Vacation Website Template

This is the second web design template for Web Designer magazine (from UK). This tutorial focuses on designing a layout using large background images for a travel / vacation company. I added extra flair with fun icons. Sandy beach, palm trees and crystal clear water - I'm so there!

Aniboom 2008 Awards - Help me win!

Hey world!

I entered my animation Cyclic Essence in the 2008 Aniboom Animation Awards and need your help. Here's all you gotta do:

1 - Go to http://www.aniboom.com/video/303927/Cyclic-Essence/ to see the animation in entirety (it's 1 min long)

2 - Rate it: You need to set up an Aniboom account to do this but only takes a few seconds, and makes all the difference!

3 - Add the animation to your "favourites" and email the link to your friends (both can be found under the animation screen) - that's all!

Thanks in advance! I will reward you with rainbows, hugs and freezepops!

Fashion Website Template

This is a fashion e-commerce web layout for UK magazine Web Designer. It was created as a tutorial on web template design using Photoshop and Illustrator. One of my favourite things working on this was coming up with cute girly names for the dresses. My faves are Helena Urbanite and Fun Francine! (I'm such a girly girl, aren't I?!)

It is in the current issue of the magazine, yay! More details here: http://www.webdesignermag.co.uk/tutorials/produce-ecommerce-sites-with-genuine-style/

I was featured on CTV's online blog!

I was featured on Kris Abel's CTV online blog! He covered myself, Vicki and Tyrel from our table at Fan Expo, which is pretty cool! This is what he wrote about me:

Wendy Ding Pin-Ups

Illustrator Wendy Ding tempted me with a cocktail of pin-up art at her booth where she was showcasing a series of four Pin-Up prints. The Pin-Up of the 1950's has enjoyed a remarkable comeback recently and Wendy has come up with a fantastic take on the genre, replacing the traditional giant champagne glass with types of food including a hot dog, ice cream cone, and my favorite, sushi held between two chopsticks. At her booth she has the glamour girls presented as bookmarks, magnets, and mini cut-outs.

Photography from Back in the Day

My crinoline skirt baths in the sunlight

Pretty flower on Queen Street

Marbles in shadow and sun

I love shapes and shadows!

My retro-looking heels from Value Village

Old shoes and boots

These are photos I took awhile back from high school and Ryerson. Oh it brings me back looking at these photos. I used an analogue black and white camera and printed them traditionally: in a photo lab!

Sketches!

These are some some sketches from the last few months. Some of them were inspired by my time in Yellowknife.

Fan Expo Photos

Here are some photos from Fan Expo. My stickers, buttons and small prints sold the best, and I actually sold out of my graphic novel! You can read it here: http://wendyding.com/storyboards.html

Thanks to everyone who came, I had a smashing time!
