Squre Foot Show

Howdy! I'm taking part in the Square Foot Show at the All Canadian Jazz Festival in Port Hope, Canada. The show runs from Sept 25 - 27 2009.

These are photos from the delightful weekend at Fan Expo 2009. Lots of fun, laughs and meeting friends and fans. Always nice to see the reactions from people to my Food Girls from laughing-out-loud to distant tilt-of-head followed with smiles.

Fan Expo 2009!!

Howdy! After much waiting and anticipation, I got the word today that I will be back at the Toronto Fan Expo this year! These are pics from last year.

As there's less than a month to prepare, needless to say I'm gonna be bee-say! I will post pics of new merch and progress as it comes. Stay tuned!

The event takes place August 28 - 30 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (255 Front Street West, Toronto.) Hope to see you there!

I'm at the Beguiling

Happy Friday! A few copies of my short graphic novel "After June" is available at The Beguiling, a delectable comic book shop in downtown Toronto. Each copy is available for $7 Cdn. There's a section near the entrance dedicated to indie zines and that's where you'll find me!

"After June" tells the beginnings of an impossible crush I had two summers ago. It was exhilarating, obsessive, frustrating and hilarious. When I think back on it, I STILL can't believe some of the things that happened! Oh the woes of infatuation...

TCAF 09

Heyo! I was at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) yesterady, Sunday May 10. This is one of the "FREE!" signs I did for the Owlkids table. See the rest here: http://www.owlkids.com/owlblog/?p=226

What a fun time! I drew silly doodles on a projector for very energetic kids on behalf of Owlkids magazine, met really cool artists / illustrators, and picked up some zines and goodies.

Sorry for the lack of pictures as I didn't have my camera! There were many things I wanted to take pics of, from the many booths to the funny doodles of humanized tomatoes with sunglasses I drew. Oh boy, the kids got demanding! "Add hair! Add sunglasses! Give him a face!!" Hehe it was all good because I just really wanted them to like my drawings and laugh and they did. :) At the end, the drawings were raffled in a draw. I was extra honoured that some kids picked mine and even asked for my autograph. How super cute!

It was also great to see my school friends and catch up, as well as reconnecting with my Owl team. But what surprised me the most was when strangers saw me and remembered me from last year's Fan Expo and told me they loved my work - aww! One girl even asked if I've been on TV, hehe. This definitely makes me want to do cons again this year.

The day ended nicely as I met the very talented Tara McPherson and picked up a copy of Skim by Jillian Tamaki. I've been meaning to get it for some time so I'm so glad I finally did!
